Culture shock!
Straight off the plane, dump our bags at the Hotel, then on to a floating market.
Loads of fresh seafood. How much of it came out of the murky waters of this canal? I wasn't going to find out.
Tempura fried veges - yummy!
This would be the way to see the canals, but we found out about it too late.
Being a mechanical kind of guy, I absolutely loved the power plant in these long boats. Stonking great truck motors, some of them six cylinder and all with straight pipes out the exhaust! (chromed of course!)
Nice shiny intercooler and pipes. These guys sure gunned the motors and were very adept at handling them around the dock.
